An unexpected thing happened on the way walking through our awesome park today. Skittish "Red" didn't seem afraid; however, when one's color is so easily noticed, fear is instinctive for survival. His tantalizing quality for attracting female cardinals also makes him a huge target for being gawked at. He naturally and quickly hopped through the thickets, attempting to hide.
The sound of rustling twigs first caught my attention. Then, the distinctive red was like an eye-magnet. And, realizing that it was a cardinal rather than berries or a dropped scarf ... combined with being able to capture an amateur but perfectly-posed photo of him... created ↑ some Awe ↑
